OUR FAVORITE DEMOS

Shuttle Tile

This is one of our favorite demos!  We let an unsuspecting volunteer hold a mysterious tile in their hand and then set a torch to the other side.  The volunteer's hand is completely unscathed.  Magic or materials?

Prince Rupert Drops

Have you ever seen glass explode?  Check out a Prince Rupert drop!

Superconductor Levitation

YBCO is a high temperature superconductor...meaning that it shows super conducting properties at a temperature that's relatively easy to attain.  In this case, we use liquid nitrogen.  The levitation shown in the video below occurs due the Meissner effect.  Read about it here!

Casting

Does it really get cooler than molten metal?  After making a silicone mold, students pour molten tin/silver solder to create their very own casting.  Check it out below!
